Lab 8: Key Signing

1. Can the email program that you use encrypt your emails using PGP? If not, is there a plug-in you could be using? Research this topic!
2. Generate your own PGP key and publish the public key on a key server. In your report, discuss how you found a server. Send me an email, signed and encrypted by you.
3. What is a Web of Trust?
4. Read the instructions for setting up a key signing party. Discuss how to set up a key signing party for this course - and get together with the others in your exercise group and do it! In your report record your observations on what was difficult, what was easy in this process.
5. How could we set up a Web of Trust for IMIs? For the HTW? Or are there too many people involved?
6. Can you find a public place to keep these certificates?
7. The Gesellschaft für Informatik suggests using email encryption in the wake of the NSA affair. How can you send an encrypted email to the president of the GI?
