Lab 5: OWL Pizzeria

  1. You may not have seen what the point of using an ontology editor is in your last exercise, so first have a look at try this tutorial "Pizzas in 10 minutes". I needed 2 hours for this, including installing the ontology editor twice. Now set up a topping that is both a vegetable and a meat. This is, of course, an error in the ontology, as toppings must be either vegetables OR meats. Now run Pellet over the ontology. Do you see how it found an error? Can you come up with more errors that you can introduce and see that Pellet can find the?
  2. Exchange ontologies from Lab 4 with some other group. OMG! Try and understand what it is that they have modelled. Discuss what you find in complete sentences. Can you find any problems in the ontology? Use Pellet and see what it says! Prepare a report for the other group on changes that you had to make.

Prepare a group report detailing what you did. Submit your written report (everyone should have their own copy submitted) to the Moodle area by 22.00 the evening before the session it is due.
