Lab 8: Wikidata

  1. Now that you have heard a bit more about Wikidata, explore the Wikidata database and see if there is anything about the topic that you chose for your ontology. Describe what you find.
  2. Register for Wikidata, and put your nicks in your report, so that I can see what you added to the database.
  3. Add information (at least 10 items or statements) to Wikidata, preferably on the topic you chose for your ontology. Describe your experience -- what was easy to do, what was difficult? What would make this task easier to do?
  4. Choose one or more of these research questions and use SPARQL to find an answer. Document your query.
    1. How many international airports are named after women?
    2. Which cities with more than three million inhabitants are located the highest?
    3. How many popes had how many children?
    4. How many heads of state had children born while they were serving? Were any of them women?

Prepare a report detailing what you found. Submit your written report to the Moodle area by 22.00 the evening before the session it is due.
